CITIZEN Scuba Fin DIVER

By TLex No prizes for guessing where Citizen drew inspiration from for their latest diver! The new CITIZEN 'Scuba Fin' Eco-Drive DIVER features a 45mm x 12mm thick black ion plated solid Stainless steel case.

The case is fitted with a unidirectional rotational divers bezel, screw-down crown and scratch resistant mineral crystal. It has a water-resistance of 200 meters.

It is powered by Citizen's reliable Japanese made Eco-Drive Quartz caliber, itself fueled only by light, so it will never need a battery change! The Scuba Fin sports a shiny honey-comb pattern dial with luminous hands and hour markers.

There's a date display at the 3 o'clock. The dial is offered in black, grey or silver (model depending) with a contrasting black, blue, green, orange or white 15 minute scale.

The Scuba Fin is equipped with a 26mm wide black Polyurethane rubber divers strap with a steel buckle clasp. It has 5 year manufacturer warranty. MSRP is around 300USD.

EXTático Regulador PROJECT

By TLex Whilst the design of EXTático's new 'Regulador' Project in many ways recalls that of the forthcoming EXTático DIVER and ROJO Diver it takes its basic design concept from a scuba divers' regulator, hence the name 'Regulador', Spanish for regulator.

Extático are a brand that are inspired by industrial conceptual-ism. They have sketched several shapes for their concept watches, which are based upon industrial objects shapes such as diving apparatus and the like.

Technical specifications of the Regulador Project are based on the EXTático Diver, so expect a 316L Stainless steel constructed case with a water-resistance of 400 meters housing an ETA 2824 automatic caliber. The watch will be presented on a custom RUBBER divers strap.

EXTático's idea is to produce the watch (seen here) with its blue bezel insert plus another color typically used on a divers' regulator such as yellow, red or orange.

BREMONT SUPERMARINE 2000 1stLook

By TLex Following the success of the Supermarine 500. British watchmaker, Bremont (insert music 'Land of Hope & Glory'!) have launched a new version of the Supermarine. The Supermarine 2000 or S2000, which is due for release at the end of 2012 was made with professional divers in mind.

BREMONT have increased the watch's size from 43mm to 45mm and re-engineered the case to withstand an increase in water-resistance from 500 meters to a depth of 2000m or 6560ft as indicated by the lovely red text on its dial at 6 o'clock. The S2000 is also fitted with a Helium Escape Valve, likely situated on the watch's left lateral side.

Apart from the S2000's welcomed size and water-resistance increase and the inclusion of an HEV, specifications remain the same as the S500. Further features include an anti-shock movement mount and a Faraday cage to shield its chronometer-tested BE-36AE movement from any unwanted electromagnetic fields.

MIDO Ocean Star Captain IV CHRONO

By TLex INTRODUCING the new Ocean Star Captain Chronograph from Mido. Its 42.5mm Stainless steel case has a water-resistance of 200 meters and is fitted with a Sapphire crystal and a unidirectional rotational divers bezel with elapsed dive-time scale.

Its movement is a Swiss quartz ETA caliber G10.211 with 5 jewels and chronograph complication. 

The watch is available in three bezel, dial combos: black bezel, black dial with white handset and markers, blue bezel, blue dial with white handset and markers or my favorite, black bezel, black dial with orange handset and markers.

 

The dial is with a wave-patter. The watch is available with either solid steel bracelet or a rubber divers strap in either orange or black.

ULYSSE NARDIN Black Sea inRED 'n' YELLOW

By TLex The ULYSSE NARDIN Black Sea, conquering the oceans in Red 'n' Yellow! Created for those of us, who are passionate about ocean sports, and the ocean, the Black Sea continues with the Manufacture's nautical legacy.

The splashes of red 'n' yellow make a bold statement against the backdrop of a rugged black rubberized case and black wave-pattern dial, the prefferd look for Nardin divers.

The steel case, which measure 45.8mm is fitted with a Sapphire Crystal and a unidirectonal rotaional divers bezel with elapsed dive-time scale, wave-pattern and 12hr marker in red or yellow.

Also in red or yellow is the Black Seas's 42 hours power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock and sub-seconds at 6 o'clock, which are powered by a Ulysse Nardin's Manufacture self-winding movement.

An exhibition caseeback affords a lovely view of the movement with its black rotor. The watch is presented on a black rubber divers strap with ceramic elements. Once again we see the famous UN wave-pattern. A striking look for summer!
